CALEY Thistle has waded into an online row after Inverness Leisure posted a message on social media wishing promotion rivals Dundee United "all the best for the rest of the season".

The two sides go head-to-head tomorrow in the second leg of the Premiership promotion play-off semi-final – with Caley Thistle needing to win to progress.

Inverness Leisure’s post on Facebook came the day after the two sides competed in the first leg, which Dundee United won 1-0.

Featuring a picture of staff and players outside Inverness Leisure, the post read: “Inverness Leisure welcomed Dundee United to the facility this morning as they took part in a recovery session following on from their play off match against ICTFC yesterday evening. We wish Dundee United all the best for the rest of the season.”

Given Dundee United’s next clash is their second promotion match against Caley Jags, the comments did not go down well with supporters in the city, who called it a “poor show”.

And Caley Thistle themselves waded into the stoosh this morning when they tweeted a link to the post, and wrote: “There is nothing like supporting your local team, and this is nothing like it! Come on Inverness tomorrow!”
