Railways starts summer special train from Patna to Mumbai

PATNA: The railways has decided to run a summer special train between Patna and Mumbai to cope with the huge rush of passengers during the season.
“The train (01077/01078) will leave the Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus railway station in Mumbai at 12.20am on May 17 and reach the Patna Junction the next day at 5.15pm. On its return journey, it will leave Patna at 7.30am on May 19 and reach Mumbai at 11.55pm the following day,” said East Central Railway’s (ECR) chief public relations officer (CPRO) Rajesh Kumar.

With a load combination of 22 coaches, the train will run via the Jehanabad-Gaya-Gomoh-Daltonganj-Singrauli-Katni-Jabalpur-Kalyan route and have stoppages at Jehanabad, Gaya, Koderma, Gomoh, Chandrapura, Gumia, Patratu, Barwadih, Daltonganj, Garwa Road, Renukut, Obra Dam, Singrauli, New Katni Junction, Jabalpur, Itarsi, Khandwa, Bhusawal, Manmad, Igatpuri, Kalyan, Thane and Dadar.
Besides, the railways has taken a decision to replace the old rake of the Rajendra Nagar Terminal-Lokmanya Tilak Express (13201/13202) with Linke Hofmann Busch (LHB) coaches to provide comfort to passengers. The new rake has already reached the Rajendra Nagar Terminal yard.
According to sources, the Railway Board has decided to replace all old conventional coaches of mail and express trains with LHB coaches from safety point of view.
Voter awareness camp: The state unit of the Youth Hostels Association of India and Track Club jointly organized a voter awareness camp at the Railway High School ground in Khagaul on Tuesday. At least 500 people attended the camp whose chief guest was Danapur SDO-cum-election officer Ansul Kumar. He urged them to exercise their franchise fearlessly to strengthen the country.
According to Youth Hostels Association’s state unit secretary Sudhir Madhukar, mementoes were given away to those creating mass awareness about the importance of votes.
