Lucknow College of Arts and Crafts former dean alleges caste bias

LUCKNOW: Calling the appointment of his successor a violation of norms, former dean of Lucknow College of Arts and Crafts Ratan Kumar accused Lucknow University officials of alleged mistreatment because he belonged to a Scheduled Caste on Friday.
In a letter addressed to Governor Ram Naik, Kumar accused the administration of violating norms by appointing Sanjeev Kumar Gautam as the new dean in an out-of-turn manner.
"Despite my seniority, I was asked to step aside from the dean's post as I belonged to the SC community," Kumar wrote in his letter to the governor. The former dean also questioned the Gautam's appointment in wake of the past complaints against the latter.
LU officials denied to comment on allegations levelled by Kumar.
On May 13, Sanjeev Kumar Gautam was succeeded Kumar as the dean of the Arts College. Kumar has been serving as the college's dean since 2016.
