LUCKNOW: Twenty-seven-year-old Himanshu Patel's dreams are nothing different from those of hundreds of educated youth his age - bagging a good
job and offer his family financial stability.
However, unlike others his dream of becoming a successful
IT professional often had to suffer because of his disability.
Hence, a
job fair organised by Saubhagya Foundation in the city on Friday for persons with disabilities was a dream come true for scores of youth who were bound by their bodies' limitations.
The job fair wast organised by the organisation and over 200 youth participated in it.
"When I was two, my doctor gave me a wrong penicillin injection to treat jaundice, because of which I developed locomotive disability waist down. Since then , my life has been a continuous struggle. Though I was working as a computer teacher in a government school, I didn't get the salary which I deserved, Frustrated, I left the job two months ago and have been looking for an opportunity since then," said Patel.
Director (operations) of Saubhagya Foundation Sonia Sharma, said, "Candidates with a background in IT, data coding and accounts participated in the job fair. Such fairs can help the society by giving disabled persons an opportunity to learn new skills."
