(5:44 p.m.) Events have ended. Final team scores are being tallied.

(5:37 p.m.) Fort Collins as close as you can. Winning the 4X400 relay with a time of 3:18.77, Fort Collins squeezed out a one-one-hundredth second win over Arapahoe. The Lambkins win resulted in their fourth title and third from the boys side of the weekend. The win secured their second place finish in the team standings as the Valor Christian boys won with a score of 90. For Collins finished at 57.

(5:30 p.m.) Valor girls win it all in style. The Valor Christian girls team has won state and they ran away with it. Lapping everyone else they finished with 149 points, 83 points ahead of second place Fort Collins. The last event of the competition was the 4X400 relay which the Eagles not only won with their time of 3:41.89, but shattered the Colorado record.

(5:23 p.m.) Limon sweeps. Limon took the 4X400 relays on both the boys and girls side. It was the school’s lone two titles of the weekend and they came in the meet’s antepenultimate and fourth-to-last events.

(4:53 p.m.) James has six! Niwot sophomore Taylor James entered this weekend’s meet with two titles 4A to her name. She left with four more. The final came in a blowout fashion as Niwot won the 4X400 relay at 3:54.85, almost seven seconds better than second place Montrose. She won the 200, 400 and 800 races the past two days.

James’ Niwot teammates on the boys side won the 4X400 relay too. Their 3:22.86 time resulted in Niwot’s third boys championship of the weekend.

(4:37 p.m.) Alamosa Owns. Alamosa has won both the boys and girls 4X400 relays. Thanks to anchors Ian Jackson and Lilly Lavier who each won the individual titles in the 400, both squads won the race by more than three seconds.

(4:18 p.m.) Sprout makes it two. Valor Christian’s Cole Sprout ran a 4:13.78 in the 5A 1600 for his second state title of the weekend. In doing so he more or less clinched the boys team state title for the Eagles. Sprout’s first 2019 title was for his first place finish in the 3200.

(3:49 p.m.) Minor’s strikes gold a final time. Arria Minor’s final run as a Colorado high school athlete resulted in another championship. In her third title of the weekend she anchored the 5A girls 4X100 relay for Denver East. She sped past Overland junior Arieona Anderson to win by almost an entire second.

(3:22 p.m.) Eagle soars again. If you don’t know the name Luc Andrada by now you obviously haven’t followed along this weekend. Winning the 4A 4×100 as anchor Andrada has titles in the 100, 200 and 4×200 to boot. Andrada marvelous weekend was capped by a come from behind win in his final event which has Pueblo East in the 4A lead heading into the 4X400.

(2:21 p.m.) The V is for victory. Anna Hall has doubled, winning the 5A 300m hurdles championship by nearly two-and-a-half seconds. Valor Christians girls are now lapping the field with a score of 120, which is way ahead of second place Fort Collins who have tallied 56.

(2:13 p.m.) Have Faith! DeBeque senior Faith Novess just shattered the 1A 300m hurdles state record. Beating it by more than two seconds and beating everyone in the field by closer to four, Novess won with a time of 45 seconds flat. It is the future UCCS Mountain Lions’ sixth title and her DeBeque girls squad has over a 40 point lead in the 1A division.

In addition, Hotchkiss’ Kaiya Firor has repeated in the 2A 300m hurdles with a record time of 44.06. It is her second straight title in the event and third title of the weekend.

(1:52 p.m.) Minor is major. Arria Minor has swept the 200 with her 23.10 time. Winning it all four years of her career at Denver East just like she did the 400 she has now won 10 individual not even including relays. One of the greatest sprinters in Colorado high school history, she’s headed to the University of Georgia in the fall.

(1:22 p.m.) Lucky Luc. Pueblo East star and soon-to-be BYU football player Luc Andrada has won again. His second individual win of the day and third win of the weekend when counting for team events. He now owns the belt for 4A 100m dash and the 200.

(1:20 p.m.) One ACL down, two state titles won. Jayden Omi said earlier today that there was slim chance he would make it back for his senior season of track after tearing his ACL this past football season. A few months from a lot of rehab the Manitou Springs senior just clinched the 3A 200 at 22.17. It’s his second title of the day, as he also won the 100m dash.

(1:17 p.m.) Taylor James Triples. Niwot sophomore Taylor James just won the 4A girls 200, dazzling with a time of 24.76. She had won the 800 on Friday and 400 earlier in the day on Saturday. She could’ve even maybe quadrupled, having the best time in the state in the 1600 but she opted out of running.

(1:12 p.m.) Valor back into team lead. With help from a discuss win by senior Cian Quiroga Valor Christian is back into the 5A team lead. Quiroga’s throw of 182-04 beat Pine Creek’s Rece Rowan.

“I feel amazing, this is an experience I’ve always dreamed of,” Quiroga said.

(12:18 p.m.) Double L, Double. Alamosa senior Lilly Lavier won the 3A girls 400. The favorite in both that event and the 800 which she won yesterday she now has a double. Her counterpart from Alamosa on the boys side of the 400, Ian Jackson, won as well. The Mean Moose were able to sweep the 3A 400s.

(11:55 a.m.) Small town, big record. Kaiya Firor set the 2A record with a 55.76 in the girls 400. The Hotchkiss runner repeated as champion in the event. And earlier Saturday she won the title in 100m hurdles. Hotchkiss is a town of less than 1,000 on the western slope that has somebody to celebrate when Firor comes home.

(11:25 a.m.) Sado Stuns! Denver West’s Yasin Sado got the triple and did so in dominating fashion, beating the rest of the field in the 3A 1600 by five seconds at 4:20.64. It was his third title of the weekend. He won the 800 and 3200 yesterday ousting a familiar face — his older brother — in all three races. Ahmed placed second in Saturday’s race and finished third and fifth place to his brother on Friday.

(11:10 a.m.) A dash of success. Regis Jesuit’s Zion Gordon had just won a title in the hurdles. After a quick break, he had a quick sprint to another title. Gordon’s 10.67 was good for first in the 5A boys 100m dash. Heavy favorite Arria Minor from Denver East won the girls 100m dash at 11.31 seconds. That time tied the Colorado record for all classifications. Minor races in the 200 later today as well as she seeks a double.

(10:53 a.m.) East strikes back. Luc Andrada would’ve set a record but wind took it away. Running at a wind-aided 10.51 seconds Pueblo East’s Andrada finished first in the 4A boys 100m dash. Andrada already titled in a team effort Friday, beating rival Pueblo West in 4×200 relay.

(10:37 a.m.) Slim Chance. Jayden Omi probably shouldn’t have raced this spring. Tearing his ACL during football season the Manitou Springs senior was overcome by joy when he crossed the line in 10.97 seconds, first in the 3A 100m dash.

“This is fantastic,” Omi said. “It’s an accumulation of a lot of work to get here. I thought I would miss this whole season.”

(10:15 a.m.) Bayfield’s Best. Jordan Lanning just completed a triple. Finishing in a record 14.20 seconds in the 100m hurdles she set a state record. Already the winner of the long and high jumps, Lanning will race in the 300 hurdles later today.

(9:51 a.m.) Faith is flying. DeBeque senior Faith Novess soared to the 1A high jump title on Friday. She kicked off Saturday with a win in the 100 hurdles. Earlier this morning Novess finished second in the long jump and still has the 300 hurdles this afternoon. Her massive contributions have the DeBeque girls in first as a team.

(9:26 a.m.) We’re off. The first event of the day on the track is the 100m hurdles. Plenty of field events are underway.

(9 a.m.) Almost go time. It’s all finals, all the time today. Hope you’re ready for an exciting day of track, where some of the best runners this state has ever seen, including Denver East’s Arria Minor, will run their final races.
