KOLKATA: Former city police commissioner Rajeev Kumar failed to file an anticipatory bail plea in a special CBI court in Barasat on Saturday due to the lawyers' cease-work, according to sources.
Kumar has been provided a seven-day window by the Supreme Court to seek legal remedies after it withdrew its February 5 order restraining CBI from taking any coercive action against Kumar.
A senior legal advisor to Kumar said that Kumar can also approach the Calcutta HC, even the Supreme Court, to seek legal relief. Kumar's legal advisor Biswajit Deb, however, said he was not aware of any plea being filed by Kumar in Bengal.
