The selfie video of Bhanu Prakash hanging to the rope became viral on social media.

Vijayawada: A youth committed suicide in a church 'unable to bear the harassment' by a financier. However, the incident came to light after final rites of the victim.

The victim, Topula Bhanuprakash, 26, of Machilipatnam, even filmed how he committed suicide. The selfie video of Bhanu Prakash hanging to the rope became viral on social media.

In the video, Bhanu Prakash said he was taking the extreme step unable to bear the harassment by Gopi. He said that he had taken a loan from Gopi for 5 per cent interest, which was later increased to 10 per cent. Prakash said that Gopi demanded him to pay the money even when he said he could not pay the high interest. He further alleged that Gopi took his mother's ATM card and his bike too, as compensation to the loan extended by him.

In the video, he said that three of his friends had his money and appealed to Gopi to take the amount to clear his debt.

He said that `35,000 was with Ravi, `8,000 with Satya and another `6,200 with Jagadish. He urged Gopi to return his mother's ATM card to her and said that it was his last wish.

Speaking to this newspaper, Machilipatnam rural inspector B.B. Ravi Kumar said that the youth committed suicide in the church at Ramapuram on May 16 and that the accused, Gopi, was arrested immediately.

A case was registered under Section 306 against the accused. The police officer said that the victim hypothecated his bike with Gopi and took `35,000 loan from the accused. Later, Bhanuprakash took away the bike even when he had not repaid the debt.

Annoyed over not informing about taking back his bike, Gopi forcibly took away the bike while Prakash was riding it on the road. Feeling humiliated, Bhanuprakash took the extreme step.
