The 4-3 ruling hurts public-sector workers

DES MOINES, IOWA (May 17, 2019) —  In response to the Iowa Supreme Court’s decision today, Beto O’Rourke’s campaign in Iowa released the following statement from State Representative Chris Hall, Beto O’Rourke’s Iowa Political Director: “Today’s ruling undermines the dignity of work for thousands of families across this state — our teachers, road workers, correctional officers, and countless others. They are the backbone of our workforce, and we must stand up to protect their right to collectively bargain for a safe, fair, and productive workplace. Powerful interests in Iowa and across America are determined to attack our working families, and Beto O’Rourke’s campaign is dedicated to standing shoulder-to-shoulder with our brothers and sisters against these challenges.”

Chris Hall is the 13th District State Representative, having served Woodbury County in the Iowa House of Representatives for nine years. Rep Hall is presidential candidate Beto O’Rourke’s Iowa Political Director. Hall was born and raised in Sioux City.
