Hyderabad: 8-year-old dies after touching high tension wire

An eight-year-old girl died after getting electrocuted while playing in the terrace of her house in Chatrinaka police limit. She accidentally touched the high tension wire which passes just a few meters from her house's terrace.

HYDERABAD: An eight-year-old girl was electrocuted while playing on the terrace of her house in Chatrinaka police limit. She accidentally touched the high tension wire which passes just a few meters from her house's terrace. The victim was identified as S Lakshmi, a resident of Uppuguda area. She was playing with her two siblings on the terrace when the accident occurred on Sunday. She accidentally touched the wire while playing and fell on the ground.

"Her mother, who was working in the kitchen, heard a sound soon after her other two kids started crying. She rushed to the terrace and found her eldest daughter, Lakshmi lying on the floor," said a police officer.
The incident occurred at around 12.30pm. The girl was rushed to Osmania General Hospital where she was undergoing treatment.
"The doctors declared her dead in less than 30 minutes," said the police officer. A case was registered under Chatrinaka police station.
