GHAZIABAD: Circle officer Aparna Gautam will investigate an allegation by TV actor Ansh Arora that he was subjected to “third-degree” torture inside Indirapuram police station on May 12 after being detained for a brawl at a store in a shopping mall.
Police said Ansh had been booked on serious charges of voluntarily causing hurt, criminal intimidation and intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of peace.

“Initially, a non-cognizable offence report under IPC Section 427 (mischief causing damage to the amount of fifty rupees) was registered against him at Indirapuram police station. Later, Ansh Arora was seen in video footage damaging the store’s property and arguing with the staff. On that basis, we added IPC sections 323, 504 and 506 to the NCR. An investigation is on,” SSP Upendra Kumar Agrawal said on Sunday.
The video clip of the incident, which has gone viral, shows the actor banging his fists on the counter, throwing objects on the staff and damaging computer sets at the shop in anger. Ansh said the store staff apparently asked him to wait over an hour, which led to an argument between the actor and them.
