BENGALURU: Self-drive company Zoomcar has appointed Hemanth Aluru as its senior vice-president and head of finance, said a company statement issued today. In his new role, Aluru will be leading the strategic financing and partnerships for Zoomcar, in addition to corporate strategy and driving P&L efficiency.
“It’s a great opportunity for me to contribute towards decongesting Indian cities by taking Zoomcar’s ubiquitous shared micro-mobility options to consumers across the country. To achieve that goal over the next few quarters, I expect to be working with the teams here to help increase Zoomcar’s vehicular supply density in key markets across the country,” said Aluru on his appointment.

“Hemanth has a proven track record as a financier and an entrepreneur and this expertise will help Zoomcar achieve disproportionate commercial outcomes, especially through strategic partnerships and acquisitions. His diverse skillset, particularly his proven track record in spearheading structured financings, will help to underwrite a new stage of growth for our subscription-based marketplace,” said Greg Moran, co-founder and CEO.

Aluru holds a B.Tech from IIT-Madras in aerospace engineering and Master’s in engineering management from Dartmouth College. He has worked in the principal investment area (PIA) of Goldman Sachs in New York, overlooking equity, mezzanine and loan investments in companies across multiple industries. Prior to joining Zoomcar, he successfully exited his startup for 3 years, a B2B distribution platform that he scaled up through acquisitions.
