Toni Kroos has admitted he is a fan of Paul Pogba as speculation linking the Manchester United midfielder with a move to the Bernabeu refuses to go away.

Pogba's future at Old Trafford is far from certain and the most likely destination for the Frenchman, should he leave United this summer, appears to be Madrid.

Were Pogba to move to Madrid, he would find himself playing alongside Kroos after the German signed a four-year contract extension with the reigning European champions.

During a press conference on Monday morning, Kroos was asked about Pogba's potential arrival and responded: “We can speak about many names.

“I like that player (Pogba) as well but with me nothing changes and I will fight for my position. When I play at my level, I have no problem.”

Meanwhile, Kroos has said he is intent on finishing his career at Madrid.

“If I agree a renewal at the age of 29, the idea is practically to end here," the German said. "I'll decide at the end, but my idea is for this to be my last club.”

The World Cup winner has been linked with United and City in the past but maintains he never had any intention of leaving Madrid after moving there from Bayern Munich in 2014.

“No, my plan has always been that I'm not leaving," Kroos added. “I want to be happier and win. I had to stay.”

On Madrid's interest in Kylian Mbappe, Kroos joked: “I like him as a player, but that question is not for me. I cannot buy him. I have a good contract but it's a question for the club!"
