Here's a never-before-seen look at the new Universal Studios roller coaster
Universal Orlando is giving us an exclusive look behind the construction walls at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. It’s a first look at Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure – See it all in the video player above. Universal calls the ride a highly-themed, immersive coaster experience at the theme park. The creative team touts it as the world's first "story coaster" where the ride vehicle slows down and a scene plays out in front of you. "You get to meet Hagrid…there are magical encounters with creatures throughout the ride," said Elaine Hinds, a show producer with Universal Creative. Riders will experience the most launches of any roller coaster in the world. There are seven total launches and at one point, riders will unexpectedly drop nearly 17 feet on the first coaster in the U.S. to feature a free-fall vertical drop. Then you'll be catapulted 65 feet in the air at a more than 70-degree angle and immediately drop backward in one movement. It will also be the longest roller coaster in Florida, measuring nearly a mile in length. The ride opens June 13 at Universal Orlando in Islands of Adventure.
