Manipur registers 3.2 lakh job seekers till end of March 18’

IMPHAL, May 20 (EMN): A total of 3,26,548  applicants including 2,22,806 male and 1,03,742 female applicants are live-registered in the different Employment Exchange of Manipur at the end of March, 2019 according to monthly progress report on the working of State Employment Service, Manipur issued by the Directorate of Employment, Government of Manipur.

According to official sources, the total number of registered job seekers in Imphal West district is 51,838 including 32,219 Male and 19,619 female. Imphal East district has 38,525 (24,983 male and 13,542 female), Thoubal 42,660 (30,404 male and 12,256 female), Bishnupur 37,042 (27,041 male and 10,001 female), Churachandpur 35,762 (30,041 male and 5,721 female), Ukhrul 26,255 (18,700 male and 7,555 female), Senapati 51,081 (31,186 male and 19,895 female), Tamenglong 24,186 (16,400 male and 7,786 female) and Chandel 15,465 (9,483 male and 5,982 female) respectively.

The number of those registered under physical/handicapped are 3,081 (2,068 male and 1,013 female) and under U.E. I & G. B are 653 (281 male and 372 female).

During the month, 1,910 applicants including 895 female applicants got themselves registered with Employment Exchanges in Manipur as against 16,776 applicants of the previous month.

It may be recalled that the number of Job-seekers registered with all the Employment Exchanges in Manipur as per live-register as on December 31, 2017 is 3, 58,123 including 2, 46,056 males.
