Dallas Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott found himself in a bit of a bad situation over the weekend in Las Vegas.

According to TMZ Monday, Elliott was placed in handcuffs after he appeared to bump an event staffer during a verbal exchange at the Electric Daisy Carnival music festival early Saturday morning. He was eventually released and was “not formally arrested or charged with a crime.”

In the same video, the NFL star appeared to not be overly happy with a woman and looked like he was exchanging words with her. (RELATED: Jerry Jones Praises Ezekiel Elliott, Doesn’t Commit To Longterm Deal)

You can watch the bizarre situation below.

Elliott didn’t appear to do anything too bad in the video, and he was obviously cut loose without any charges. However, this still isn’t a great situation.

He’s looking for a new contract, and the last thing he needs is bad headlines along the way. Getting handcuffed at a music festival isn’t the worst thing that can happen to a player, but it’s not a path you want to go down.

This also comes on top of the fact Elliott has already dealt with accusations of domestic violence, which resulted in a suspension in 2017.

Given how much money the Cowboys star has riding on the line here, I’m not really sure why he was in Vegas at all, and especially out into the late morning hours at a music festival.

There’s nothing illegal about that, but it seems like a situation that’s best to be avoided as he searches for a new deal.

This is just day one common sense stuff.

Luckily for Elliott, Jerry Jones loves the man, which means this probably won’t amount to anything when it’s all said and done. Still, he needs to learn to be much smarter.
