Ex-pradhan held for ‘forced inking’ in Chandauli
VARANASI: The Chandauli police on Monday arrested a former village pradhan Chhotelal Tiwari for allegedly bribing voters and forcibly inking their fingers to stop them from voting, a day before the constituency went to polls.
Six persons from Tara Jivanpur village alleged that some local musclemen had raided their houses and forced each of them to take Rs 500 as bribe for not voting.
They also inked their fingers, and before leaving, threatened the villagers against going to polling booths.
