'It looks like you could pop it and pus would come out!' Bride-to-be is brutally mocked over her pale pink engagement ring - as critics insist it looks like a 'Dr. Pimple Popper cyst'
- A woman posted a picture of an acquaintance's engagement ring in a ring-shaming Facebook group
- She called it 'hideous' and said the girl had 'horrible taste' in rings
- Commenters agreed, comparing it to a pus-filled zit or cyst
An unidentified woman is being mocked for her engagement ring, which critics say looks like a giant pus-filled cyst that's about to pop.
The bride-to-be allegedly posted the picture of her ring online to show it off, when another woman stumbled across it and took a screengrab.
That woman then shared the photo in a ring-shaming Facebook group, eliciting disgusted and disapproving reactions from others.
Don't pop it! This bride-to-be's engagement ring is being shamed online, with some saying it looks like something out of an episode of Dr. Pimple Popper
The woman who first spotted the ring re-posted it in the Facebook group 'That's It, I'm Ring Shaming' to make fun of it.
'I'm in several engagement groups (like activity, not “to be married”) on my makeup Instagram and we always alert each other when we’ve posted a new picture,' she explained.
'Well this girl who is super adorable said “new post” and I got excited because she always posts super cute outfits.
'This was the post. I'm disappointed ... it’s hideous. Sweet girl. Horrible taste in rings,' she concluded.
Ew! At least one commenter said it looked like a Pilar cyst, while several others compared it to pimples and blisters
Others seemed to agree, saying it looked like tacky costume jewelry and comparing it to a giant skin cyst.
Dr. Sandra Lee — also known as Dr. Pimple Popper — is known for her viral videos popping and removing disgusting cyst-filled skin growths
One insisted it looked like a 'Dr. Pimple Popper Pilar cyst.'
A Pilar cyst is a benign flesh-colored bump on the skin that forms when a hair follicle clogs and leads to a buildup of keratin. They're filled with fluid and tend to form on the scalp.
'It looks like you could pop it and pus would come out,' added another.
Another said: 'This ring is more fake than the orgasms I had with my ex boyfriend.'
'Why did she put a gusher on her ring???' asked yet another.
Others compared it to a blister, chewed gum, soap, Starburst candy, and even a testicle.
It's hardly the first engagement ring to be shamed on social media.
TMI: Also this week, a woman disgusted the internet with an engagement ring that she claims is made out of breast milk and her son's umbilical cord
This week, another woman shared a picture of her engagement ring in a Facebook group and was promptly slammed for it.
The woman, who is unidentified, claims the ring is made out of breast milk and her son's umbilical cord.
'Posting because I LOVE my wedding band! I gravitate towards vintage rings. I also love the gold ring because it's a keepsake ring,' she wrote in a Facebook group.
Other members of the group said the thought of this ring made them physically ill, with one writing: 'I just threw up in my mouth a little bit.'
'Well I said I needed to lose weight. Here's motivation. Every time I go to snack I'll think of this ring,' said another.
'I just vomited,' another added.
