LUCKNOW: Lucknow Municipal Corporation authorities informed the high court on Monday that civic conditions in the city were now better. They also assured the court that all stray animals would be caught and sent to Kanha Upwan by May 31.
LMC officials, however, admitted that the civic body was still behind its target to make the city clean.
A bench of Justice MN Bhandari and Justice Saurabh Lavania, which heard the case, suggested that LMC should either consider changing the private agency hired for cleaning the city if it was unable to deliver or engage more agencies.

Earlier, LMC, outsourcing agencies and contractors filed 80 affidavits in the court in compliance of the previous directions and informed the court about the steps taken and proposed measures to clean the city. The court fixed May 22 for next hearing.
