Maharashtra: Mumbai bank professional drowns in Raigad river while relieving himself

The victim had joined a private bank around six months back in Mumbai after completing his graduation.

Navi Mumbai: In a tragic incident, a 23-year-old bank staffer drowned in Savitri river in Raigad district of Maharashtra on Friday. The incident occurred in Poladpur Taluka when the victim went to urinate along with his friends.
The victim has been identified as Prahlad Varvatkar, who went to the town to attend the wedding of his friend.

According to a report in Times of India, the victim fell into river pit while he was urinating and drowned subsequently. Akshay Mhaskar, one of the men accompanying the victim, said varvatkar drowned at 3.15 am when they went to relieve themselves.

The victim had joined a private bank around six months back in Mumbai after completing his graduation. Meanwhile, the police has filed a report of accidental death.

An accidental case has been registered. The body was fished out by local residents around 3.30 am," the report quoted police constable Niket Warade as saying. The victim has been cremated at Poladpur, his native place.
