Never forget. Josiah Duggar and his wife, Lauren Duggar (née Swanson), shared the name of the child they lost to a miscarriage earlier this year.
“As we rejoice of the life of our second sweet baby, we also remember (balloon as symbolism) our other sweet baby, Asa, in heaven,” the Counting On stars wrote in their Monday, May 20, pregnancy announcement. “God is so incredibly good!”
In the reveal photos, the pregnant star, 20, and her husband, 22, cradled her baby bump in a floral yellow dress, a white balloon to their right. They also showed off a sonogram shot, as well as a sign reading, “Rainbow after the storm. Baby #2.”
“God’s faithfulness to us in our most difficult moments has sustained us and brought us such love and comfort,” the couple told Us Weekly exclusively that same day. “We cannot begin to tell you how much we are looking forward to holding this baby in our arms this fall. Every good and perfect gift is from above and we are looking forward to this new season of parenting together!”
In February, Us broke the news that the TLC personalities had lost their first pregnancy. “It really was a hard time for our family going through this right after we got married,” Josiah said in a TLC announcement at the time. “And all the dreams of getting to see our little one and hold it in our hands dashed before our eyes.”
He honored his wife on Mother’s Day three months later with an Instagram post, captioned: “To my dear Lauren… Happy 1st Mother’s Day. I have seen you love, protect, and how much you have given without getting anything in return. I wish our sweet baby could’ve seen just how wonderful a mother you are. Not all mothers arms get to hold their little one, or get to hear their baby’s laughs and cries. You may have missed out on these things since our baby was called home to be with Jesus, but you ARE a mother. I love you Lauren! #mamatoanangelbaby.”
Josiah and Lauren tied the knot in June 2018.
