Richarlison had an excellent season with Everton scoring 14 goals in all competitions.

His performances in front of the Goodison faithful led to him being called up to the Brazil squad for several international friendly matches earlier in the campaign.

And he is set to join the Selecao again for their Copa America campaign,  which his home nation are hosting.

Footage emerged of the wonderful moment the Blues attacker found out he would be part of the 23-man squad as he was mobbed by family and friends.

Now the 22-year-old has opened up on what it means to be selected and that video.

He told Gazeta Online: "I was very nervous.

"I even looked to the side when it reached the 22nd name and I had not yet been called.

"Even so, I have always dreamed of this moment. I’m very privileged. I'm the happiest guy in the world!

"It's different. It's a bigger emotion.

"I was looking forward to being called up for the friendly matches, but today was the today I became anxious the most and now I am very happy."

The 22-year-old is at his grandparents’ house in Brazil. 

They are sitting in anticipation and listening to the announcement of the squad, live on national TV. 

And then the forward is confirmed, the room bursts into noise.

Richarlison jumps up as his family and friends cheer loudly and wave their arms in celebration. 

He immediately hugs a man next to him before embracing several others in the room.

This footage was shared on Twitter by Gazeta Online on Saturday but was re-shared by Brazil legend Ronaldo.

Writing on Instagram, the former number nine said: “Impossible not to be moved by these images.

“Being summoned to the Selecao is always a unique sensation, a pride different from any other.

“This feeling can never end.

“Congratulations, Richarlison, you deserve so much.”

The footage has since been viewed more than 800,000 times.
