Viktoria Plzen midfielder Patrick Hrosovsky may not be a familiar name to many fas, but he’s become a name associated with West Ham United in 2019.

The 27-year-old has been one of the stars of Czech football, and ended this season with six goals and six assists in all competitions, helping Plzen reach the Champions League qualifying rounds again.

Hrosovsky impressed in the Champions League this season and has a shot at playing in them again next term, and West Ham have been heavily linked this year.

AS reported in January that West Ham were discussing a deal for Hrosovsky, before agent Pavel Zika told Ruik that the Hammers had made a ‘serious offer’.

Zika admitted that he was still hoping to agree a deal with the Hammers, but the speculation of a move to East London has died down since then.

Now, Hrosovsky does appear to be on the move after all. Het Belang Van Limburg in Belgium report that Hrosovsky is close to joining Belgian champions Genk for just £4.4million, meaning he’ll still feature in the Champions League.

His West Ham hopes appear to have faded, and barring a shock late turn of events, Hrosovsky will be playing in Belgium rather than in the Premier League next season.
