Engineering aspirants performed well in the Telangana engineering common entrance test (ECET) by registering a pass percentage of 90.32%.

HYDERABAD: Engineering aspirants performed well in the Telangana engineering common entrance test (ECET) by registering a pass percentage of 90.32%.
The results were announced by the Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University at its campus on Wednesday. Of the 27,123 candidates who appeared for the exam which was held on May 11, 24,497 qualified for it. The ECET is conducted for the diploma and Bachelor of Science (Mathematics) degree holders for lateral entry into second year of engineering study.
The ECET-2019 exam comprised questions from ten branches of engineering, BSc and Pharmacy courses.
The top ranks were secured by Thotteti Tarun in electrical and electronics engineering, Vinnakota Srivani in computer science and engineering, Jogam Goutham in mechanical engineering, Sreeperambuduru Pranathi in civil engineering.
In mining engineering, Devunuri Sai Venkat Raj secured the top spot followed by Khatri Sujay Kumar in electronics and communication engineering, Nallagonda Lakshmi Viswanath in chemical engineering, Vemula Anil Kumar in metallurgical engineering, Veeravalli Sai Sita Ram in electronics and instrumentation engineering. While Surnila Teja Sai emerged as the topper in pharmacy and Durgam Naveen Kumar was the topper in BSc (mathematics).
The TSCHE and JNTUH shall soon declare the counselling schedule. Qualified candidates seeking lateral entry in various technical courses will have to undergo certificate verification following which they will be able to exercise web options.
A provisional allotment list will be declared by the university after which students will have to pay the tuition fee and report to the allotted college to confirm the seat.
