Rahul Gandhi won Wayanad with a margin of 2,03,961 votes against P.P. Suneer of the Communist Part of India, as per the Election Commission's website.
Wayanad, one of the 20 Lok Sabha constituencies in the Kerala state, came into notice at national level after Rahul Gandhi decided to contest from here. Winning margin of Rahul Gandhi was a state record.
According to the latest details updated on the website of the Election Commission of India on 09:40 AM on Friday, May 24, BJP won 298 seats and is currently leading on 5 seats while Congress won 52 LS seats and CPI won 2 seats.
Wayanad Lok Sabha ConstituencyWayanad is a Lok Sabha constituency in Kerala. In 2014 Lok Sabha polls, MI Shanavas of the Indian National Congress had won from this seat. After his demise in 2018, the seat held by Shanavas has been lying vacant.
The election for the constituency was conducted on April 23 for the 2019 Lok Sabha elections.
