RAMPUR: Samajwadi Party leader Azam Khan won the Rampur seat, defeating BJP candidate Jaya Prada by a margin of 1,09,997 votes.
While Khan secured 5,59,177 votes, Jaya Prada got 4,49,180 votes. Congress candidate Sanjay Kapoor got only 35,009 votes.
Overall, BJP won 303 seats while the Samajwadi Party has been declared victorious on 5 seats.
