Mirzapur Constituency Election Result: BJP ally Apna Dal's Anupriya Patel wins Mirzapur LS seat

MIRZAPUR: Union minister and leader of Apna Dal (Sonelal) Anupriya Patel won from Mirzapur by 2,32,008 votes.
The Apna Dal, an ally of the BJP in Uttar Pradesh, has won both the Lok Sabha seats that it contested from Mirzapur and Robertsganj.
In 2014, the Apna Dal had contested only two seats, Mirzapur and Pratapgarh, and had won both. The party has thus maintained its 100 per cent success rate.
Overall, BJP won 303 seats while the Congress party has been declared victorious on 52 seats.
Mirzapur Lok Sabha Constituency
Mirzapur Lok Sabha constituency is currently represented by the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) ally Apna Dal’s Anupriya Patel, also a Union minister. Congress has won Mirzapur seat five times, Samajwadi Party four times, Bharatiya Janata Party twice. The BSP also represented the seat twice since elections held in 1957.
