UP election results: Apna Dal coasts to easy win in Mirzapur, Robertsganj

VARANASI: BJP’s alliance partner Apna Dal (Sonelal) secured easy wins in Mirzapur and Robertsganj (reserved) parliamentary seats.
AD(S) top leader and Union minister Anupriya Patel was in fray to retain her Mirzapur seat. She was in direct contest against BJP turncoat SP candidate Ram Charitra Nishad.
Anupriya, however, proved mightier in the contest as her vote count crossed 5.90 lakh while Nishad could muster 3.50 lakh only.
In neighbouring Robertsganj (reserved) seat, Apna Dal candidate Pakaudi Lal Kol also succeeded in ensuring an easy win against SP’s Bhailal Kol after some neck-to-neck battle in the initial rounds. Pakaudi Lal got 4.40 lakh votes while Bhailal could not get more than 3.90 lakh.
