    NDA 2.0: Infosys co-founder Kris Gopalakrishnan wants more investment in research, support for startups

    In a historic win, the Bharatiya Janata Party swept the 16th Lok Sabha Elections leading the NDA to a second consecutive term.
    The victory made 68-year-old Narendra Modi the third Prime Minister (apart from Jawahar Lal Nehru and Indira Gandhi) to win a second consecutive five-year term with a full majority.

    Celebrations began across the country, and Twitter too was flooded with congratulatory messages.

    Infosys co-founder Kris Gopalakrishnan, while congratulating PM Modi, also tweeted his wish list from the government, "Expect more investments in research, support for innovation and startups. Creation of new jobs requires vibrant innovation ecosystem @startupindia."


    'Sacred Games' actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui congratulated PM Modi 'on the super win', adding, "Will proudly make united India more strong ...Jaihind."


    Indian skipper Virat Kohli, who is in the UK ahead of the upcoming World Cup, said, "We believe India is going to reach greater heights with your vision." Actress Anushka Sharma echoed her husband's views, saying, "India is looking to scale newer heights of growth and success under your leadership."



    Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar tweeted, "My heartiest congratulations to @narendramodi Ji & @BJP4India for winning the #LokSabhaElections2019. The nation is with you in building a brighter and stronger New India."


    Former Miss World Manushi Chhillar who was a first-time voter, congratulated Modi and the BJP. She added, "India has exercised its democratic right and now its time to fulfil our duty as citizens of the country for a better tomorrow #LokSabhaElections2019."


    Congratulating PM Modi, Salman Khan said, "We stand by you in building a stronger India."


    He later also tweeted a shirtless picture of himself with the caption, "Chilling and watching the news. Swachch Bharat Fit Bharat."


    'Queen' actress Kangana Ranaut celebrated the win by cooking, which her sister Rangoli said she does only when she's 'absolutely exhilarated'.


    Twinkle Khanna, aka Mrs Funny Bones, who's known to often criticise the Modi-government congratulated the PM and BJP saying 'democracy must always be celebrated', adding that she hopes 'India becomes synonymous with inclusivity, harmony and development'. Meanwhile husband Akshay Kumar, who recently made headlines for his 'non-political' interview of Modi, and his Canadian citizenship, said, "All your efforts to advance the nation and put it on the global map have been acknowledged."



    Lata Mangeshkar also congratulated PM Modi and Amit Shah on Twitter.




    Oscar-winner AR Rahman said he looked forward to 'a miraculously progressive united India'.


    Actor R. Madhavan tweeted, "@narendramodi Dear Modi Ji.Your incredible & relentless commitment and pure intentions, has now got the entire nation waiting with bated breath for you to lead us into a glorious Era of governance and prosperity. God bless you with the the best of health Strength and longevity"



    Father-daughter Anil and Sonam Kapoor also tweeted saying they look forward to 'new heights and greatness' under his leadership.



    Film-maker Karan Johar, boxer Mary Kom, actor Kabir Bedi, cricketer Ajinkya Rahane also shared wishes on Twitter.
