HYDERABAD: With YSRCP sweeping assembly elections in Andhra Pradesh on Thursday, a Telangana inspector-general of police (IGP)-rank officer, B Malla Reddy, has decided to move to Andhra Pradesh on deputation and work under chief minister-in-waiting YS Jaganmohan Reddy. As of now, Malla Reddy is the only officer from Telangana police interested in working in AP.
The 1998-batch IPS officer, who has always been known in police department as a YS Rajasekhara Reddy loyalist since his posting as Kadapa district SP in 2008, might now get a significant posting in AP.
But whether his cadre transfer from Telangana State to Andhra Pradesh will be hassle free or not has to be seen since Telangana government has to give permission.
Nearly 10 days ago ago, Malla Reddy had reportedly met Jaganmohan Reddy in Hyderabad, anticipating that YSRCP would win the assembly election. When contacted, Malla Reddy confirmed to TOI that he was planning to move to AP cadre.
Currently, Malla Reddy is Telangana State Housing Corporation managing director and has been in that post for the past three years.
