Thinking of going out for a curry?
Maybe you are planning to go out with friends or family for a special occasion like a birthday or anniversary.
Perhaps you are looking to dine out for a celebration in the Islamic calendar such as an iftar to break the fast in Ramadan or the festival of Eid al-Fitr.
Or maybe you just fancy heading out for a meal after a long week at work rather than an evening slaving away over all the usual cooking and washing up.
But where are the best places near you?
In this new and up-to-date guide, we've taken a look at all those Indian restaurants that are currently listed with a top score of FIVE for food hygiene.
Indian food is always a popular choice, especially in Birmingham - the birthplace of the Balti.
The city has a Balti Triangle where a number of Indian restaurants are clustered together although there are many more scattered across the city.
With so many to choose from, it can be difficult to know which ones are the best.
So we searched through the Food Standard Agency's listings to find all the Indian restaurants in Birmingham where inspectors from the city council had awarded them a top food hygiene rating of five.
We've listed all the five-rated Indian restaurants below by area, including the date of their last inspection.

How food hygiene ratings are given
At the end of an inspection by city council environmental health officers, a business is given one of six ratings from 0 to 5. The top rating of 5 means the establishment has very good hygiene standards.
Under the category of restaurant/cafe/canteen, there are currently 705 premises in Birmingham with a top score, with 50 of those being restaurants serving Indian or South Asian cuisine.
This does not include any listed under the separate category of takeaways.
The information was correct when taken from the FSA website on May 22, 2019.
Please note that ratings can change after a subsequent inspection and that some of the premises included in the listings may have since moved, rebranded or closed.
