Veteran Bollywood actor
Shatrughan Sinha was contesting the Lok Sabha polls as the candidate of Indian National Congress from the Patna Sahib constituency in Bihar. The actor who emerged victorious in the previous general elections in 2014, however, this time had to taste a nasty defeat from BJP's
Ravi Shankar Prasad.
The actor who was earlier a member of BJP switched sides after he was denied ticket to contest polls from the constituency.
Opening up on his defeat, the veteran actor said that he feels no sense of loss, as he sees it as an electronic machine victory for the BJP. He said that nevertheless, a victory is a victory, no matter how it is obtained.
Sinha also congratulated his opponent and said he wishes Ravi Shankar Prasad all the best from the bottom of his heart and he hopes that he works tirelessly for the welfare of Patna’s people. However, the politician said he his from Bihar and shall remain linked to the grassroots. He also said that he is planning another trip to his hometown shortly.
