Maharashtra election results: At least 4.7 lakh opted for NOTA

MUMBAI: At least 4.72 lakh voters in the state opted for None of the Above (NOTA) option in the 2019 elections. The vote share of this option was 0.91%, which was higher than the voter share for BSP and AIMIM in the state. BSP registered a vote share of 0.83 % and AIMIM registered a 0.74% vote share.
The number of voters who had opted for NOTA in 2014 was nearly 4.31 lakh, with a vote share of 0.9%.

A total of 5.37 crore voters out of 8.85 crore registered voters cast their ballots this elections in the state.
In Mumbai, the vote share of NOTA across the six constituencies has been around 1.5%. The highest NOTA was used in Mumbai north-west constituency. A total of 17,678 voters opted for the option, which is 1.93% of the total votes polled in the constituency. The highest number of NOTA votes across the 10 seats in Mumbai and neighbouring areas was in Palghar. A total of 29,479 voters opted for this option, which was 2.45% of the total votes registered in the constituency.
Election office officials said that the numbers may change a bit as some of seats were yet to complete counting of votes.
