Looks like fixing Sonic the Hedgehog’s look in his new film will take longer than Paramount hoped. Following a ton of negative feedback regarding the first trailer for the film, director Jeff Fowler announced earlier this month that the studio would be making changes to make the look more palatable. Now, Fowler has posted to Twitter to confirm that as expected, the movie has been delayed. Instead of the original November 14th release date, the film will now debut on February 14th, 2020.

The new date will put Sonic up against Kingsman: The Great Game and rom-com The Photograph. The film stars Jim Carrey, James Marsden, Adam Pally, Tika Sumpter, Natasha Rothwell, Neal McDonough, and Ben Schwartz as the voice of Sonic.
