NEW DELHI: Delhi University is likely to start the admission process for UG (undergraduate) students from May 27, ending on June 9. The standing committee on admissions, in its final meeting on Thursday, finalised a number of policy decisions.
The committee has sent a proposal to the economics department to change the criteria for the minimum marks in mathematics. Applicants for BA program can submit marks of English or Hindi and any language from the Major Indian Language (MIL) group, including languages from the North-East.

The panel also managed to put on hold a controversial decision of including auditions and trials for BA music and physical education — admissions here will be based on merit. The committee is now awaiting approval from the university’s vice-chancellor for all the decisions and will announce registrations from Monday.
In the meeting, the committee also forwarded a proposal from the teachers of the School of Open Learning, requesting the criteria for admission in BA and Bcom to reduce from 40% in Class XII to just passing grades.
From this year, applicants at Delhi University can use digital wallets and UPI to pay their admission fees. “This will ensure hassle free and timely completion of the admission procedure,” said Rasal Singh, committee member.
