Arjun Kapoor's action thriller India's Most Wanted hit the screens yesterday. The film has been directed by Raj Kumar Gupta, who had forayed into filmmaking with Aamir.

IMW has released in 1500-2000 screens and has made Rs 2.10 crore.

In the film, Arjun Kapoor plays the role of an intelligence officer Prabhat Kumar, who is hunting for 'India's Osama', a terrorist, who has orchestrated serial blasts in the country. The film revolves around the capture of Indian Mujahideen terrorist Yasin Bhatkal, who was arrested in 2013 after several years of being on the run.

Speaking about his complex role, Arjun Kapoor had earlier told Indian Express, "It comes with a lot of complexities, because I’ll be honest, I have never done it before. You have to rely on a lot of research, then meeting people, making it believable to yourself. Especially this character, because this is an extension of our regular working class people and you have to blend with the crowd."

India Today's movie reviewer Ananya Bhattacharya gave the film 2 stars out of 5 and wrote, "Director Raj Kumar Gupta peppers his story with the occasional hilarious dialogue here and there. But India's Most Wanted suffers from a sluggish pace, which is quite detrimental for a film of this genre. It is a crime thriller. The film needed to have been knit a lot better. The story hardly moves in the first half. You feel disconnected even though there's something happening on screen."

Arjun Kapoor's film is expected to face tough competition from PM Narendra Modi biopic, which stars Vivek Oberoi. Due to the historic sweep of the Bharat Janata Party at the Lok Sabha Elections 2019, there is expected to be more footfall at the theatres to see the life of the Prime Minister on big screen.

Though the films are from completely two genres, it remains to be seen which film will win the box office battle.
