HYDERABAD: Two villagers who got stuck inside a 60ft deep well at Madipalle village in Karimnagar district were rescued within 20 minutes by circle inspector.
Cops were alerted around 10 am after the coolies — M Ravindar and Mallaiah — who went inside the well in Jammiknta mandal got stranded and called out for help. They ventured into the well to clear garbage.
“Crowds gathered but no one made an attempt to help them as the depth of the well was little deep,” said Jammikunta inspector Srujan Reddy, who went inside the well to rescue the duo.

Ravindar and Mallaiah, who were inside the well for over 40 minutes, complained of breathlessness. “I went inside the well using a rope and tied it to them to pull them out. But, I failed as the rope was loose,” said the inspector.
Two persons volunteered to help but came back halfway through. “We informed the fire services department and got a 60-ft long ladder. I again went inside the well and helped them out using the ladder while others pulled the rope,” Reddy said. The coolies were rushed to a local hospital where they are said to be out of danger.
