BAREILLY: City woke up to a sensational murder of a woman police sub-inspector whose body was found from transit hostel at the Police Lines here on Wednesday. The officer was killed brutally as her face was crushed with sharp stones after strangulating her. Her body has been sent for the postmortem.
Senior police officers including deputy inspector
general Rajesh Kumar Pandey and SSP Muniraj G rushed to the spot.
Rina Kumari, the victim, was a native of Amroha district and she was posted here at the Police Lines. She was married to a constable in provincial armed constabulary (PAC) but got divorced later. She had a 15-year-old boy - from the marriage - who studies in Delhi.
Rina might have struggled for life while battling with her killer as her belongings in the room were out of place. Police didn’t deny that someone very close to her would have killed her.
Muniraj G said that they have setup two teams under supervision of SP (city) and SP (crime). "She had been on leave for some days. We are investigating the case from all angles and very soon the culprits will be in police's net,” SSP said.
