LUCKNOW: Three persons died after consuming spurious liquor in Mehmudabad area of Sitapur district.
Five others of the same village are serious and undergoing treatment at the district hospital of Sitapur.
The deceased were identified as- Vijay (30) and Vinod (30) both of Saidanpur village, Sumairi Lal (40) of Sajora village in Mehmudabad.
Superintendent of police (Barabanki) LR Kumar told TOI that prima facie it has come to fore that all the three deceased had bought liquor from illicit liquor manufacturer Kanhaiya Kumar.

"Kanhaiya belongs to Barabanki but he sneaks into the Mehmudabad area of Sitapur district, supplies liquor and then again returns to his district. Four teams have been formed to arrest him," added Kumar.
He also said that first, Vijay died on Sunday but his family members did not inform us and conducted his last rites. Similarly, kin of Sumairi Lal also did not inform police after he died on way to Lucknow for treatment on Wednesday morning. Only after checking reports of the third deceased Vinod on late Wednesday night at district hospital, the doctors informed us about spurious liquor death.
