UP: Delhi teenage siblings drown in Etah canal

Two siblings of Delhi who had come for summer vacation at their maternal grandmother’s home in Etah, were drowned after they went for swimming in a canal.

AGRA: Two siblings of Delhi, who had come for summer vacation at their maternal grandmother’s home in Etah, drowned after they went for swimming in a canal.
The incident took place at Hazara canal close to Barigama village of Pilua police jurisdiction. According to police, the victims were identified as Lalit Upadhaya (13) and Hariom Upadhaya (8).
Station house officer of Pilua Pramod Kumar said, “The scuba divers rescue team have recovered Lalit’s body, while his younger brother Hariom’s body is yet to be recovered.
The boys had come to their maternal grandmother’s home on summer vacation. Their father Vinay Upadhaya works and lives in Delhi.”
“At the time of incident, the victims' parents were in the national capital,” added officer.
After the incident, SDM sadar Nandlal Singh and CO, sadar\, Varun Kumar visited the spot to monitor rescue operation.
