BHOPAL: A
Congress IT cell member was shot at and injured in
Gwalior district of
Madhya Pradesh late Wednesday night. The victim, Yeshawant Verma, is in hospital and out of danger.
Police said Verma was standing at Kampu bus-stop around 10.30pm when eight men came on four motorcycles, and started shooting at him. Before anyone could react, they sped away. One bullet hit Verma’s leg, and he was taken to a government hospital by his friends, say police.
Police are yet to identify a motive behind the attack.
Sources say that it could be a case of mistaken identity. Police are scanning the CCTV footage to try and identify the attackers.
