The marks are calculated after taking into consideration the best of five subject marks which compulsorily include, physics, chemistry, mathematics and English.
Once again, the cut-off marks in other backward category was the highest at 347 marks followed by 345 in the open category, 331 in scheduled class Category, and 326 each in scheduled tribe and persons with disability category.
However, students who qualified IIT Main but failed in a subject or two in the Higher Secondary Certificate Examination are afraid that their revaluation results will not be uploaded on time and hence they will suffer.
A student who failed in physics and mathematics but cleared IIT Main said he had applied for a photocopy of the answer sheets on priority basis. “Generally, IIT Advanced results are declared in the first half of June and soon the rest of the admission process starts. I am hoping that I will be able to get the photocopy of my answer sheets soon so that I can get it checked at my school by my subject teacher and then apply for revaluation,” the student answered.
As per the process, a student who gets the photocopy of the answer sheet needs to submit it within 5 working days of him getting the answer sheet. But the process of revaluation is normally long.
“We started the priority-based services to such students two years ago. This year, we reissued the instructions telling divisions to make sure that students who have qualified an entrance exam or want to apply for a professional course are given priority,” Ashok Bhosale, secretary of the board, said.
