MUMBAI: The 345th anniversary of the Maratha warrior king Chhatrapati
Shivaji Maharaj's coronation will be celebrated at its original site, the
Raigad fort, which is located about 170km from the city. Nearly four lakh people are expected to attend the two day event planned on June 5 and 6. Shivaji Maharaj's descendents will also be among those attending the event.

We are clubbing various issues related to forts and their conservation, heritage, history, and environment," said
Rajya Sabha MP, Sambhajiraje Chhatrapati. A descendent of Shivaji,
Chhatrapati is also the chairman of the Raigad Development Authority. Diplomats from China, Poland, Greece,
Bulgaria and Tunisia will be attending the event, he added.
A puja will be conducted in the presence of the sarpanchs and villagers from around the area. There will also be a display of martial arts from Shivaji's era, and an exhibition at the fort. On the second day, there will be flag hoisting, followed by the arrival of Shivaji's palhki .
