Boy mowed down by car in Faizabad

LUCKNOW: A 12-year-old boy was killed in a road accident, when he along with his mother was crossing the road on Faizabad Road on Monday. Mamta Yadav (35), along with her son Satyam Yadav (12), was crossing the road near the Saraswati Hospital around 7:15pm, when a speeding car that was coming from Barabaki hit the duo.
Satyam died on the spot and Mamta was referred to KGMU Trauma Centre where she remains critical, said Chinhat police.SHO, Chinhat, Sachin Kumar Singh said: "We have taken the accused, Arun Shukla (40) and the car into the custody. The accused works in a private company and was returning from Barabaki to his home in Lucknow."
This is the second such case in the city. On Sunday, Sandeep Kumar (28) was crushed to death by a truck in Thakurganj.
