HYDERABAD: Telangana Pradesh
Congress Committee (TPCC) treasurer Gudur Narayana Reddy on Tuesday said that the results of the MPTC and ZPTC elections should not be considered as a sweeping victory for
TRS as the Congress has given the ruling party a tough fight.
“We have won a significant number of seats and lost several seats with small margins. The ruling party has won the election with money power and distribution of liquor .The ruling party has used intimidation as a tool to get the support of voters in rural areas,” he said.
Reddy alleged that TRS MLAs and ministers had openly threatened that funds would be denied if TRS gets fewer seats and votes. He said TRS cannot win any poll if the Election Commission does its job honestly by preventing violation of the model code of conduct by TRS leaders.
Reddy congratulated the newly elected MPTC and ZPTC members of Congress party and hoped that they would help in further strengthening the party at the grass roots level.
