Four persons were killed after three tyres of a coal-laden lorry burst, causing the lorry to fall on a two-wheeler at Maddalapalli village in Anantapur district on Wednesday afternoon.
The lorry, coming at a great speed from Tadipatri to Anantapur, hit the two-wheeler on which two persons were travelling.
The two persons on the two-wheeler hailed from Chinakondapalli in Tadimarri mandal of Anantapur district. One of them was identified as Siva Reddy.
The Itikalapalli Circle Inspector Thammisetty Madhu said that the cleaner of the lorry also died on the spot, while the injured lorry driver was shifted to the Government Hospital, where he died while being treated.
The lorry overturned and had been dragged for some distance, creating havoc and blocking traffic. The rest of the persons were yet to be identified.
