Patiala's Jayesh bagged 17th All India Rank in JEE (Advanced)

After achieving the glory and top rank in the state in Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main in January this year, Patiala’s boy Jayesh Singla had again brought the laurels to his parents by securing 17th All India Rank in the Joint Entrance Exam (JEE) Advanced. The result of JEE Advanced was declared on Friday.

PATIALA: After achieving the glory and top rank in the state in Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main in January this year, Patiala’s boy Jayesh Singla had again brought the laurels to his parents by securing 17th All India Rank in the Joint Entrance Exam (JEE) Advanced. The result of JEE Advanced was declared on Friday.
Earlier he had bagged 100 percentile in JEE Main Exam (part-1) which is the first level of the two-part IIT exams.
He was among the top 15 candidates out of the 8.74 lakh who had appeared in the examination.
Student at Apollo Public School Patiala, Jayesh, who turned 18 in March this year, had remained a brilliant student in his class tenth that he had cleared with 97.4 per cent from Yadavindra Public School Patiala.
He devoted around 7 to 8 hours a day on his studies and avoids using smartphones and watching TV during his days in extra coaching classes from a private institute in Chandigarh.
Willing to achieve success in computer engineering, Jayesh said he would prefer to get admission in Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay.
Jayesh is a cricket lover but could not see any cricket match these days following the concentration on his studies however he would only check some updates from the Indian Premier League. He said that now he would like to spend days watching all the remaining world cup matches.
“I had a love for Physics and get pleasure in studying instead of taking the burden of it. I had given importance to the self-study and it always helped me a lot. I do not lose my confidence while attempting any examination. I am thankful to Almighty, my parents and teachers for their support and guidance”, said Jayesh.
Jayesh’s father Ajay Singla is a paediatrician while his mother Dr Monika is a Gynaecologist in a private hospital in Patiala.
