High school track: Marianapolis Prep's Sydney Masciarelli of Northbridge adds another national championship

For the second straight day, Marianapolis Prep sophomore Sydney Masciarelli ran to a national high school championship, giving her three over the last seven months.

Masciarelli won the championship 2 mile at the New Balance Nationals Outdoor in 10 minutes, 11.99 seconds, more than 10 seconds better that runner-up Sarah Connelly of Mount Sinai TC in New York. Her victory follows Friday night's win in the championship 5,000 meters at Aggie Stadium in Greensboro, North Carolina.

In December, Masciarelli won the Foot Locker Cross Country Championships at Balboa Park in San Diego.
