JUPITER — In Saturday night’s Florida State League All-Star game, pitching and defense reigned. The South division limited the North to just three hits, winning the contest, 2-0, on a rainy evening.

Though the South scored a run in each of the first and second innings, both pitching staffs limited any and all damage from there. As part of a dynamic pitching staff for the North division, a late addition to the roster, relief pitcher Julio Pinto, represented Daytona in the bottom of the eighth inning.

Pinto stepped and recorded a 1-2-3 inning. Pinto is 2-0 with a 3.67 ERA for the Tortugas this season.

Other Tortugas in the game, 3B Jonathan India, 2B Alejo Lopez, OF Andy Sugilio and C Hendrik Clementina were all hitless.

The Tortugas start the second half of their season Monday against the Florida Fire Frogs at 7:05 p.m. at Jackie Robinson Ballpark.
