The Unified Traffic and Transportation Infrastructure (Planning and Engineering) Centre on Monday approved the Integrated Transit Corridor Development and Street Network or Connectivity Plan for the Rohtak Road-NH-10 corridor.

The PWD proposal approved by the UTTIPEC under the chairmanship of Lieutenant-Governor Anil Baijal aims to incorporate provisions for adequate space for safe movement of pedestrians in the stretch, said officials. “The project corridor is a part of NH-10 and connects various residential areas such as Punjabi Bagh, Mundka, Paschim Vihar, Nangloi and other important areas,” read a DDA statement.

The corridor improvement plan includes construction of a flyover at Rohtak Road, extension of a road overbridge along the Outer Ring Road going towards Mangolpuri and improved pedestrian access along a proposed metro station (under Phase-IV), officials added.

“The PWD proposal will provide safe pedestrian facilities at Peeragarhi junction and signal-free corridor from Jwala Heri market red light to Jwalapuri red light on Rohtak Road,” read the statement.
