Aurangabad: Valuables worth Rs 2.10 lakh stolen from marriage hall

AURANGABAD: A woman's purse containing Rs 1.10 lakh in cash, along with gold jewellery and a mobile phone, total worth Rs 2.10 lakh was stolen from a marriage hall off Jalna Road at Chikalthana around 2pm on Saturday.
Sunita Satish Chavan (49), a resident of Spandannagar, N-4 Cidco, told the MIDC Cidco police that she had been to Bhagyalaxmi Lawns for attending a marriage ceremony of her close relative on Saturday.
At a time when she and other relatives were busy with the preparation for the rituals, she kept her purse on an empty chair beside her. After a while she found it to be missing. The incident occurred around 2pm, when the marriage hall was full of relatives and guests. Unable to find the purse, she reached out to the police and lodged a complaint, following which a theft case was registered.
The police said they retrieved the CCTV footage and found that two unidentified teenagers, even unknown to the family were roaming around and picked the purse. They said that they have launched a manhunt for the suspects.
